Class Read Aloud: The Wild Robot by Peter Brown

Date Started:  9/15/2025

Educational Purpose: Reading The Wild Robot helps us practice important reading skills like summarizing, predicting, and learning how characters change. We also get to explore big ideas about friendship, survival, and what it means to belong. The story connects to science by teaching us about animals, nature, and even technology. It also gives us chances to think about kindness, empathy, and working together, while inspiring us to write our own creative responses and share our opinions.

About Me

Hello and welcome to third grade!
My name is Kalynn Roy, and I’m so excited to be your child’s teacher this year! This will be my sixth year in education and my second year teaching third grade—a year full of growth, curiosity, and fun!

I was born and raised in Millbrook, Alabama, and now live in Prattville with my husband and our sweet one-year-old daughter, Lillian. When I’m not in the classroom, I love spending time with my family, reading a good book, volunteering at my church, and enjoying the outdoors.

I truly believe that every child has the ability to learn and thrive when given the right support, encouragement, and opportunities. My goal is to create a positive and engaging classroom where students feel safe, challenged, and excited to learn.

I can’t wait to get to know your child and help them shine this year. Let’s make it a fantastic year together—Go Bulldogs!
