Hi, I'm Dana Hassell. I am so excited to serve as the Reading Specialist here at PLES.   I moved here from Sylacauga, Alabama and I have loved every minute of living in Autauga County.  I have a daughter, Natelee, who is majoring in Psychology at The University of Alabama, and  a son Jonah, who attends Prattville High School.  I have a B.A from The University of Alabama, M.S from University of Montevallo, and currently pursuing an EDS from the University of West Alabama.  

I have taught almost every grade,ELA in 10th, 9th, 8th and 7th grades before deciding to find my place in an elementary classroom, where I interned in 4th grade, Since then, I have taught Kindergarten, First Grade,Second grade and Third Grades all before taking on the role of Reading Specialist.  I love my students, and I have a special place in my heart for students that struggle with reading.  I work very closely with classroom teachers and the Intervention Team to promote a love of literacy within our school.
